At Linktree, I owned end-to-end marketing copywriting, partnering closely with the Creative Director to develop high-impact emails, videos, landing pages, and out-of-home campaigns. I also led content design for Linktree Shops, shaping the UX writing for the company’s first creator monetization product.

Content matrix case study

My role at Linktree sat at the intersection of Product and Marketing, which revealed a massive need: alignment. Teams worked in silos, resulting in marketing campaigns that spoke a different language than the products they sold. This led to confusion both internally and for users. Additionally, teams were slowed down by last-minute executive feedback during critical moments.

To address these issues, I developed a content matrix template that aligned Product, Marketing, and Leadership around shared language early in the process. This tool became a bridge between teams, reducing miscommunication, accelerating approvals, and ensuring consistency across product releases and campaigns.

  • I reached out to my content design peers at Indeed and Red Ventures to research how other organizations were keeping their teams aligned. I used their expertise to help guide the first draft of the content matrix template, which I presented to the Chief Creative Officer and the Director of Product Marketing.

    After one round of revisions, it was ready to share out.

  • The content matrix template became the first deliverable across campaigns, allowing us to move fast during key moments. With content fleshed out and pre-approved, it became easy to churn out landing pages, emails, social posts, and billboards.
